# MYTHIC CREATURE BLADES — COLLECTION II

## 50 additional designs, numbered 51–100

In this set, the **blade surface itself follows a mythical creature silhouette**. Heads, beaks, horns, wings, limbs, fins and tails shape the boundary of each cambered blade. Relief lines and eye inlays add readable creature details. There is no ordinary rectangular sail behind the creature.

Each design includes:

1. A standalone creature-blade GLB at a 1 m reference blade height.
2. A hand-spun turbine GLB, approximately 1.72 m tall, with the creature blade repeated 3–8 times around a central shaft and a rounded grip ring at 1.06 m.
3. An elevated wind-driven turbine GLB, approximately 4.95 m tall, with the same creature silhouette and blade count.

That is **150 new GLB files: 50 isolated blades and 100 complete turbines**. This collection is separate from the first 50 abstract sail designs. It interprets the same creature references through more explicit figurative outlines.

## Explore the files

- **creature-blades-viewer.html** — offline 3D viewer with a creature-blade close-up and both turbine versions. Select any of the 50 designs, orbit and zoom, preview rotation and column lighting, enable the low tone, or download individual GLBs. The isolated blade stays still while the turbine assemblies turn, making the creature form easier to study. Current desktop browsers with WebGL and gzip decompression support are required.
- **creature-blades-51-100.blend** — editable Blender library, created in Blender 5.1. Each design has three named collections: blade, hand and wind. Only the Phoenix blade collection is visible initially. Hide it using the Outliner monitor icon, then enable the collection you want to inspect. All collections share the origin. The named rotor parent rotates around Blender Z while the support remains fixed.
- **models/** — 150 GLB mesh assets. GLB units are meters and the up-axis is Y. The standalone blade is a reference geometry study; the hand and wind blades use different physical proportions to fit their rotor arrays. GLBs include a 12-second rotation animation for inspection; it is not a predicted operating speed.
- **all-50-creature-blades.jpg** — all 50 creature outlines on one comparison sheet, taken from the exact blade perimeter geometry.
- **creature-board-01.jpg … creature-board-05.jpg** — ten designs per board, each shown as a 3D blade, hand turbine and wind turbine. Views use independent presentation scales.
- **creature-collection-preview.jpg** — six representative directions.
- **previews/** — 150 transparent PNG renders.
- **concept-index.csv** — IDs, names, blade counts, form descriptions, twist and model filenames.
- **source/** — shape parameters, exact silhouette outlines, a procedural generator and viewer-library license. Regeneration requires Python 3, NumPy and Shapely 2.1 or later. Run `regenerate-creatures.py` in that folder to rebuild the GLBs. The native Blender meshes can be edited without running the generator.

## What changed in the blade design

The first set expressed creatures through abstract sail curvature and edges. This set uses figurative creature outlines as the entire wind-facing surface. Each silhouette is triangulated, given a shallow camber, closed with thickness, edged with a narrow rim and repeated around the shaft. The two sides carry relief details. The hand and wind assemblies retain their fixed illuminated columns and proposed low-tone speaker modules.

Examples include a Phoenix with spread feather wings and a beak; a Griffin with a beaked head, wing and four legs; Naga and other serpents with coiled bodies; dragons with horns, feet and curled tails; a Kraken with eight curling tentacles; a Unicorn with a horn, mane and hooves; Pegasus with a broad wing; and a Nine-tailed Fox with a fan of nine tail paths. Creature anatomy is stylized to form a continuous blade surface. These are artistic interpretations rather than a claim to reproduce canonical depictions from each tradition.

Each design has its own silhouette, appendage arrangement, blade count or twist combination. The 3–8 repeated creature blades are equally spaced around the shaft for nominal geometric balance. Individual blade widths adapt to the space available at each blade count, so the isolated blade view uses a clearer reference proportion. The integrated turbines are the files to use when evaluating actual proportions in the assembly.

## Light and low-tone sound

Both complete turbine versions retain the proposed response from the first collection:

`Rotation sensor → controller → diffused column lighting + softly faded audible low tone`

The visible light strips are part of the stationary column. A speaker module is represented near its lower section. The viewer brightens the strips during motion and synthesizes one of 82, 98, 110, 123 or 131 Hz after the user enables sound. Pitch is steady; the eventual installation should use a controlled amplitude envelope and capped volume. The preview is not calibrated in sound-pressure level, and reproduction depends on the playback speakers.

A shaft generator, rectifier, load/charge controller and electrical buffer remain proposed components. Triggering the light and sound from motion is separate from supplying all their energy from the rotor. This set does not establish that a given creature blade produces enough power for sustained light or audio. Ordinary GLB viewers show the diffuser material with static emission; the interactive viewer provides the motion-triggered light preview.

## Design-development limits

These are closed 3D visual concept meshes. The generator does not validate wind flow, torque, starting behavior, power, balance under real material tolerances or structural loading. The viewer now provides a separate illustrative wind-power estimate using adjustable assumptions. Creature appendages and openings may reduce useful blade area and introduce fatigue or flutter concerns. No performance ranking is assigned.

Before building, develop the selected shapes through aerodynamic and structural testing. The hand version also needs resolved guarding, pinch clearances, controlled inertia, a torque limiter and an ergonomic full-scale mockup. The elevated version needs site-specific wind measurement, mast and foundation design, braking and maintenance access. The approximately 5 m mast is an illustrative scale. Speaker enclosure design, electrical hardware and actual acoustic levels remain to be developed.

The blade shells, decorative rims and reliefs are separate mesh components. The models are not fabrication drawings, manufacturing solids or ready-to-print assemblies. All blade outlines and installations should be refined around the selected materials and construction process.

The first collection and its original viewer remain available in the parent folder.

## Wind and generator scenario update

The viewer now includes adjustable wind speed, generator watts and physical size, estimated electricity and constant-wind energy, load balance, and CSV export. See [Wind estimate notes](WIND-ESTIMATE-NOTES.md) for the formulas, defaults and limitations. Estimates are illustrative and do not validate the creature blades. The gold generator envelope changes only the viewer; GLB downloads keep the original sculpture geometry.
